Difference Between mass and weight

Difference Between mass and weight
mass
Mass is a constant for each object, meaning that the mass won't change unless the object changes (E.g when divided).

On the other hand Weight changes due to the gravity;

any object's weight is the force pulling it down to the ground (that's why objects fall to the ground when they are beign thrown up) . The force can be determined like this:F=ma , where F is the force,m is the mass and a is the acceleration (the gravity in case of weight).

but when you are on a gravitational field such as the earth or any heavenly body such as planet, satelight, star,galaxy e.t.c you experience a gravitational force or pull or attraction and that force is simply your weight(w) and the acceleration is now the acceleration as a result of gravitational influence (g).

Therefore since W(weight) is now F(force) and a(acceleration) is now g(acceleration due to gravity) we can simply say that weight(W) is now mass(m) x acceleration due to gravity (g) i.e W=mg, where w is the weight, m is the mass and g is the acceleration due to gravity7.81 And again, weight is in Newtons, while Mass is in kilograms.

When you go to the hospital what you check is your mass not your weight.

Example:
If your mass is 68kg(just like mine)
Then your weight(w)=68kg x 9.81ms-2
which is equal to 667.08Newtons.sup
